Many so-called Muslims seem to get involved in a variety of crimes in the West, which they justify in the name of Islam. One should consider the following legal reflection of Hanafi jurist Muhammad b. Hasan Al-Shaybani who wrote: “If a group of Muslims passed through the enemy’s front lines by deceptively pretending to be the messengers of the Muslims’ Caliph, carrying official documents – or if they were allowed to pass through the enemy lines – they would not be allowed to engage in any hostilities with the enemy troops. Such people are not entitled to seize any money or property of the enemies as long as they are within the line of control. This also applies in cases where one is trusted by the other party in any context, let alone, if one is granted residency, and provided with all their civil rights as most of the Western countries do to even these deviated residents.
