Mahmud Jamal was appointed to the Supreme Court as the first Muslim and first non-white judge in the 146-year-old history of Canada. The Canadian government stressed that he had a distinguished career, throughout which he’s remained dedicated to serving others.

A new survey produced by a coalition of Islamic civic groups showed a dramatic rise by 31% in the number of US mosques over the last 10 years, despite the increase in local obstacles that hinder building, expansion or relocation of mosques.

Media outlets commended India’s mosques for their role in combating Covid-19 as some became care facilities to aid patients amid a staggering surge in infections. Others became centers for raising awareness of the virus's seriousness and ways to deal with it.
